The Partnership has been working with a consortium of TTR, CERC and RPS, to develop a Low Emission Toolkit. The purpose of the tool is to estimate air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions from transport fleets and also from transport associated with new development sites. The tool can then go further and estimate the costs and emissions benefits of implementing various low emission measures.
Fleet managers will be able to model the introduction of low emission technologies. Planners, environment officers and developers will be able to estimate transport emissions associated with a development site, and model the impact of various planning measures, such as site based low emission zones, car clubs and travel plans.
The first phase of development is complete, and the Partnership has a ‘beta’ version of the tool. We have been awarded additional funding from Defra for user testing and to develop the tool further. Click here to view the
'Low Emission Toolkit' page or Contact us at info@lowemissionstrategies.org if you would like more information, or to be involved in user testing.
