Low Emission Forum Event

March 2010

The LES Partnership held its first 2010 event in London on 25th February. It was the inaugural meeting of the Low Emission Forum. The Forum provides opportunities for anyone with an interest in developing ‘low emission strategies’ to reduce transport impacts on air quality and greenhouse gas emissions.

The agenda included speakers from the Office of Low Emission Vehicles and the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, information on the newly published DEFRA/LES Planning Guidance and low emission case studies from local authorities. Attendees were encouraged to give their views on the future role and activities of the Low Emission Forum.

The Forum is aimed at the ‘low emissions community’, particularly those from local authorities working in emissions management, environmental strategy, spatial/transport planning, procurement and fleet operations. Attendees at the first meeting also included stakeholders from public, private and third sector bodies, as well as from regional and national government.

The free event took place at One Queen Anne's Gate, St James's Park, London and offered a complimentary buffet. The next meeting of the Forum will be in July 2010.
